Town Common after the floods

The Town Common wetlands still have a fair bit of open water, two months after our big floods, but it is back to normal levels for this time of year – if there is such a thing as “normal” in our wildly variable climate, that is.

We didn’t see many birds in our brief visit to Tegoora Rock but did see a couple of Bustards from the lookout. I will include one of my telephoto shots just because it will be the first Bustard (Ardeotis australis) on Green Path. They are widespread, as  Wikipedia says, but not particularly common and tend to stay well away from people in open grasslands.
