One megawatt hour

Our solar power system passed a milestone today, having produced one megawatt hour since installation at the beginning of June.

David’s system passed that milestone quite a while ago – he got a head start on us – and when he announced it someone said, dismissively, that our nearest coal-fired power station would pump out a megawatt hour in a few minutes.

That was an ungenerous comment, though it may be true. On the other hand, who would want to live underneath a coal-fired power station?
