On a similar theme, Qld Museum has just launched http://www.wildbackyards.net.au, inviting people in South East Qld to document their backyard wildlife & upload photos and info.

It seems to be an idea that is in the air at the moment – I’ve been told that the local ABC has a similar project in mind, and that the Townsville Bird Observers’ Club (I hope I have got their name right) is also planning something similar.
